North East Transport Options Project
This exciting three year program is part of
a Victoria wide initiative that aims to help
communities find practical solutions to improve
existing transport services. The program seeks to
improve access and mobility for people who are
transport disadvantaged. Key objectives for the
project include:
• Exploring better use of existing resources
• Facilitating dialogue for tailored transport
solutions
• Strengthening links between the community
and public transport sectors.
The North East Transport Options Project Officers
are responsible to the North East Transport
Options Project Management Committee for
project direction. This committee comprises
representatives from the Rural City of Wangaratta,
City of Wodonga, Indigo Shire Council, Towong
Shire Council, Alpine Shire Council, Ovens & King
and Upper Hume Community Health Services,
Alpine Health, the North East Local Learning
and Employment Network and Community

development principles and are reliant on a high
level of community participation, engagement
