BURSARIES - EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
The 2007 IAA BUILDING BLOCKS National Conference aims to improve the skills and knowledge of interpreters and other staff responsible for and/or interested in developing interpretive and ecotourism experiences and heritage conservation programs.
IAA is calling for Expressions of Interest from:
· Indigenous Australian interpreters;
· Students;
· Self-employed interpreters; and
· Staff of smaller regional/remote ‘not-for-profit’ organizations
who are interested in attending the Sydney Conference.
Key areas of focus of this year’s BUILDING BLOCKS Conference include:
· the complex interactions between natural, Aboriginal and built heritage
· conflicting perceptions
· the challenge of Generations X and Y
· interpretive public art
· interpreting layers of significance of moveable heritage and cultural landscapes
