Program to employ Indigenous Australians for environmental services,
The Federal Government will spend $50 million employing Indigenous Australians to deliver environmental services in remote and regional areas.
Minister for the Environment Malcolm Turnbull says the work will include controlling feral pests and weeds and protecting wetlands and sea country.
The Government says the program builds on Community Development Employment Projects and offers the prospect for some Indigenous Australians to move to real jobs.
