JOBS

D ear Colleagues,

Please see below e-mail from Regional Arts NSW. Could you please let me know if there are any suitable recommendations for this tender within the network?
Dear General Managers, As you know, Regional Arts Australia has been funded to pilot Creative Volunteering in two regional Indigenous communities in 2007. The pilots follow on from the scoping project completed in 2006. I would like to put out an invitation to Tender for a consultant to manage this project (our previous consultant Charles Trindall has indicated he is not available). As with the previous project I would like this to be a limited Tender offer to one or two people from each state/NT. Please feel free to call and talk about this if you have any questions.
I would be very pleased to hear from you with the contact details of anyone you believe would be appropriate for this role. I will need their details by Wednesday June 6.
Tender invitations will go out by Friday June 8th, to be provided to me by Monday June 25th.
In considering appropriate recommendations, can you please keep the following in mind:
Tenders should demonstrate
A strong understanding of the arts and cultural sector in regional and remote Australia
Strong understanding of, empathy for and experience in working with Indigenous people and organisations.
Knowledge and experience in flexible education and training development, methodology and delivery
Experience in community consultation, analysis and reporting.

The following activities are to be undertaken by the consultant.
Pilot Actions
Establish a project reference group which would include representatives from the project partners and other key stakeholder organisations
Create an Indigenous protocols document for working with regional and remote Indigenous communities.
Determine locations of pilots.
Carry out community consultative visits prior to the workshops.
Determine appropriate workshops to be piloted.
Source appropriate Indigenous trainers/interpreters to work alongside existing trainers for the pilots.
Customise case studies and assessment exercises to complement existing workbooks.
Deliver pilot workshops. (via an RTO currently delivering the CVNL program)
Evaluate pilot workshop ( in collaboration with Flinders University)
Hold a national seminar for trainers, on appropriate Indigenous cultural education and community engagement.
Report and recommendations.
Many thanks, I look forward to hearing from you soon, Ruth Smiles Executive Director Regional Arts Australia 2 McLaren Parade Port Adelaide SA 5015 Ph: 08 84440424 Fax: 08 84478496 Mobile: 0421611715 Mailto:ruth.smiles@countryarts.org.au www.regionalarts.com.au
