Theatre Group performance

Good morning all.. Just a quick reminder regarding the Theatre Group performance which is coming to Albury this Friday, 31st October. We had 2 shows yesterday at Mt Austin High School, which were both well attended by Kids and the local Community. We have another performance today at Ashmont Community Resource Centre which is sure to be another success. I guarantee that if you can see the performance in Albury, not only will you enjoy it but you will have a few laughs, learn something that you might not have not known about and be able to take some resources away with you. The performance is free and everyone is more than welcome to come along, The Office of Fair Trading will be putting on some refreshments after the performance for all to enjoy. Healthy Dads and child Development Camp

Good Morning Could you please circulate the Healthy Dads and Child Development Camp through your distribution list? Families NSW and the Aboriginal Child Youth and Family strategy are conducting a Healthy dads and child development camp at Borambola Sport and Recreation Centre starting lunch time 14th November and finishing on Sunday 16th November. The program is to provide basic information regarding key access points for men's health and child's development regarding key milestones. The camp is open to Indigenous and non-Indigenous fathers, carers or fathers to be of children 0-8, (we can be flexible regarding age) if you are aware of any fathers, carers or fathers to be that may benefit from the camp they are most welcome to attend. Below is some basic information regarding the Healthy Dads and Child Development Camp Overview of Healthy Dads and Child Development Camp The Healthy Dads and Child Development camp aims to strengthen the connections between fathers, carers, children and partners to increase shared understandings of age appropriate requirements for their child’s early learning development needs “especially for the first three years of a child’s life” The camp will provide professional presenters to increase the knowledge and understanding of the importance of the role fathers play in the early development of a child’s life by strengthening fathers skills and knowledge in areas such as;What will give our babies the best start in life? What will give our children the best start at school? What will keep our kids at school and learning well? What will help / assist parents and communities to raise healthy strong babies, children and young people 0-8 yrs? business training program.
Daborra (“pathway” in the Yorta Yorta language) is
an advanced business training program designed
to increase the capacity of Victoria’s Indigenous
businesses to move toward an increased level
of profitability.
Assistance is provided in the areas of:
• business diagnostics,
• strategic planning,
• growth,
• finance and
• marketing.
Delivered through a combination of workshops
and one-on-one coaching, the program works with
well-established Indigenous businesses to identify
potential areas for growth and improvement.
At the conclusion of the program, businesses will
showcase their achievements in a business trade
fair in May 2009.

Unusual Animals
This painting depicts the NGUURRAMBANG (Wiradjuri Country). The animals represent peoples totems, they are of people we have not heard of, but they are here with us, as like these animals these people have a purpose in life. These people and animals are the quite achievers. The dots represent the color of the natural vegetation that grows in this beautiful country. Widespread settlement has eroded the landscape known by our brothers and sisters, but the spirit of the Wiradjuri people lives on in descendants of those who first inhabited this country. I acknowledge and honor the spiritually and traditions of my people (Wiradjuri) - the first who occupied this land.

The three circles joined by squiggly lines represent my signature and the three rivers of the "Wiradjuri Nation", The Wambool (Macquarie),Kalar (Lachlan) and Murrumbidgerie (Murrumbidgee) The Wiradjuri tribe is also known by the name of "the River people" as we all lived along the banks of the Rivers which stretches across NSW. The Wiradjuri lands stretch from Nyngan to Albury and from Hay to Bathurst - the largest territory in New South Wales. Our country extends across 60,00 square kilometers across areas known as the South West slopes, Central and Southern table lands, Capital Country and the Riverina.
